The December 28th big snowfall transitioned from rain to ice to wet snow to dry snow, and was accompanied by stiff winds -- and plenty of downed branches. Please help remove trail debris as you ski.
Look for the best skiing on the East Side Core Loop that received 'finish' grooming the evening of December 30th, including classic track. Anticipate soft conditions in spots. Ungroomed trails (or partially groomed trails) will provide plenty of 'backcountry' skiing until grooming can be expanded while removing ice damaged trees/branches.
IMPORTANT UPDATES
The access road (Fire Lane Road) is being plowed wider today (December 31).
snowfall
December 31: 1" powder snow
December 30: 1/2" fluffy powder snow
December 28: rain, then 4" heavy, wet snow - then 6" lighter snow - approximately 10" total
grooming & MOWING
Grooming Report / Plans:
December 30 (evening): groomed East Side Core Loop - this included setting classic track.
December 29: used multiple passes with a roller to pack and groom the East Side Core Loop, creating a corduroy surface; used a single double wide pass with a roller (with the rear comb up) to groom the West Side, creating a surface with deep ridges.
