The next few days, PLEASE STAY OFF THE SKI TRAILS IF THEY ARE VERY SOFT! When it freezes hard, the deep ski marks are almost impossible to remove with grooming. Once it cools down, we hope to resume skiing and grooming.
Freeze/thaw cycles will create a hard frozen trail to start the day. Time your skiing to take advantage of rising temps, solar radiation, and a softening trail surface. If you catch the magic window, you'll find good skating. The classic track was set March 1st, it's functional but becoming less well defined with each warm day.
Early morning Sunday the skate lane was frozen hard, and early arriving skaters had to work a bit to get an edge. Rising temps made for adequate edge control by about 9:30 a.m.. The glaze in the classic track became more skier friendly mid-late morning. So far the ski trails are withstanding March's 2021 warm weather insult, but watch for bare spots developing on south facing hills.
Bring your good skis, the base was adequate Sunday morning.

Our snowshoe trails are an option for hikers - PLEASE DON'T WALK/HIKE ON THE SKI TRAILS!
February 28, 2021: 6+ inches heavy sticky snow
No grooming planned this coming week during the big warmup and predicted rain. More grooming is a possibility when cooler weather returns, especially if it snows.
This past week we groomed March 6th, 5th, 2nd, and 1st.
Classic track was set throughout the trail system on March 1st, the rest of the grooming this past week focused on the skate lane.
Stay in-the-know about grooming updates, special events, news, announcements, volunteer days, and more. Rest-assured, we never sell or share your information.
